Grinch Snow Globe Cookies
Bite into this fun Grinch Snow Globe Cookie Recipe for the holidays. A soft and tasty Vanilla Sugar Cookie colored green with Vanilla Buttercream frosting, coconut and a sugar themed candy Grinch with Red Heart.

Ingredients
- ½ Cup Butter softened
- ½ Cup Granulated Sugar 100g
- 1 Egg Large
- ½ teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- ¼ Cup Vegetable Oil
- ½ Cup Powdered Sugar 65g
- 2 Cup All Purpose Flour 240g
- ½ teaspoon Baking Soda
- ½ teaspoon Cream of Tartar
- 14 Heart Sprinkles or Red Candy Pieces
- 14 Grinch Sugar candies
- Green Food Coloring Green Gel Color
Vanilla Buttercream Frostin
- ½ Cup Butter Softened
- 3 ½ Cup Powdered Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 2-4 Tablespoons Milk
Additional
- 7 Fillable Snow Globe Ornament Halves
Instructions
- In a large bowl or stand mixer cream together softened butter and granulated sugar for 2-3 minutes making sure to scrape down sides of bowl as needed.
- Add Egg and vanilla extract and continue to cream until everything is throughly combined. Scrape down sides of bowl
- Drizzle vegetable oil in a little at a time followed by confectioners sugar. Add a drop or two of green food coloring
- Allow mixture to cream another 2-3 minutes.
- Gradually add flour and cream of tartar and baking soda a little at a time until it's all added
- Scoop the dough using a #24 cookie scoop (about 3 Tablespoons Cookie Dough).
- Roll cookie dough in ¼ cup granulated sugar and place on cookie sheet allowing at least 2 inches apart.
- Bake at 350 degree preheated oven for 7-9 minutes. Do not overbake
- Cookies are done when edges are set and center is no longer glossy
- Allow cookies to cool on cookie sheet for a minute before moving to cooling racks or wire racks to cool completely.
Vanilla Buttercream Frosting
- In a large bowl combine softened butter with powdered sugar and mix to combine.
- Add vanilla extract and drizzle milk in 1 tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached.
- Pipe or spread frosting on cooled cookies making sure to frost to the edge of each cookie.
- Sprinkle with chopped sweetened coconut (for a snowlike effect)
- Place Grinch Sugar Candy and Red Heart Sprinkle
- Top each cookie with a fillable Snow Globe Ornament Half
- Store cookies in a sealed container for up to a week. Cookies best if enjoyed within 2-3 days.
Notes
Recipe makes approximately 14 cookies using a size #24 cookie scoop.
Pro Tips
Food Coloring. Use a Gel Color for a bright green color. Liquid drop food color can also work but will require more drops and can be difficult to achieve the bold bright colors you are looking for. Cookie Scoop. I have used a #24 cookie scoop (3 Tablespoons of cookie dough) in these photos. Grinch's Heart. Wilton makes a larger heart sprinkle that I have used and can be found off Amazon or other Party Supply stores. A Red M&M candy also works well too. Kitchen Scales. Weighing ingredients is key to consistency. Adding too much or too little flour, sugar or other ingredients does make a huge difference. These cookies should be soft and tender.
