- Pour melted chocolate over top of rice krispy treats and spread evenly over entire baking sheet.
- As bars cool so will the chocolate. Allow cookie bars to set on counter or in a cool place until ready to serve.
Notes
Substitutions.
We love to use Peanut Butter chips in place of butterscotch chips. It's also fun to top with Reese's Pieces or mini peanut butter cups too. Use Corn Flakes in place of Rice Krispie Cereal in a pinch. It's also wonderful. I have had these Scotcharoo Bars made with Oatmeal instead of Rice Krispie Cereal. They are both delicious, but I do prefer the rice cereal.
