Halloween Cookies are so much fun, give this Bride of Frankenstein Cookie a Gideon's Bakehouse Copycat Cookie Recipe a try!

    Bride of Frankenstein Copycat Cookie

Giant Gourmet vanilla cookie base loaded with white chocolate chips and vanilla Golden Oreo Cookie pieces rolled in M&M's chocolate candy pieces and crushed Golden Oreo Crumbs.

Each cookie is about a half of a pound of delicious cookie goodness. Truly a spectacular cookie.

Making a batch of Bride of Frankenstein Cookies may take a little time and effort but it's worth the wait of these cookies.

Many wait in long lines at Gideon's Bakehouse in Orlando Florida just to get a taste of these limited edition cookies for October. And they are well worth the wait.

    What is Gideon's Bakehouse Cookies?

Gideon's Bakehouse is a cookie bake shop located in Disney Springs in Orlando Florida. Plan early to get in line and cookies do sell out.

Each month a new limited edition cookie is announced for the month along with their stable cookie menu. Not to mention the slices of cake and coffee.

I truly love the themed atmosphere of this bakery. Its creepy vibe is fantastic and only ads to the excitement of stepping inside to see the cookies on display.

    October Halloween Cookies

As you might expect October boasts a delightfully rich Frankenstein Cookie at Gideon's Bakehouse. It's loaded with chocolate and is full of great flavor and texture.

I personally love the Frankenstein Cookie, but I am of course a huge chocolate lover.

The Bride of Frankenstein Cookie feels a little lighter in taste and a little less sweet which is a welcome surprise especially with all the overload of treats during the month of October.

Bride of Frankenstein Cookie Copycat Recipe

The Bride of Frankenstein Cookie copycat recipe is also made with the same Vanilla cookie base and then loaded with white chocolate chips, Golden Oreo pieces and rolled in M&M's and then Golden Oreo cookie crumbs.

Each cookie can be garnished with sea salt flakes which truly enhances all the flavors in every bite.

Do I have a favorite? Of course I do. It's the one I'm eating and enjoying at the moment. The Bride of Frankenstein Cookie copycat is fantastic and isn't as sweet as the rich Frankenstein Cookie.

Ingredients for Bride of Frankenstein Cookie copycat

Dry Ingredients: Brown Sugar, Granulated Sugar, Cake Flour, Bread Flour, Cornstarch, Baking Soda, Salt, Sea Salt (garnish)

Wet Ingredients: Butter, Eggs, Vanilla Extract Paste

Other Ingredients: White Chocolate Chips, Golden Oreos, Golden Oreo Crumbs, M&M's Candy Pieces

This recipe will make 8 gourmet cookies each weighing approximately a half pound. They are a fantastic size for sharing. A little really does go a long ways.

    Baking Supplies

Gather all the supplies needed. I prefer to make these in a larger stand mixer. I use a Bosch Universal Mixer. But you can easily use a large mixing bowl and an electric hand mixer.

    • Mixing Bowl and Hand Mixer OR Stand Mixer
    • Small mixing bowls
    • Cookie Sheets
    • Silicone Spatula to scrape sides of mixing bowl
    • Measuring cups and spoons and/or Kitchen Scale
    • Parchment Paper liner for Baking Sheets or Silicone Baking Mat
    • Wire Cooling Rack

    Pro Tips

Cookie Dough. Chill Cookie dough for at least 2 hours. Ideally longer as it takes time for the flavors to meld together. Even over night is perfect.

Parchment Paper. Place cookie dough on parchment paper for baking. This helps for easy clean up as well as easily lifting cookies off baking sheet.

M&M and Oreo Crumbs. Make sure to remove M&M's candies and Oreo Crumbs from bottom of cookie dough. The extra M&M's candies and Oreo Crumbs tend to burn when on the bottom of the cookie dough.

Garnish. Add Sea Salt Flakes on top of baked cookies before serving. Sea Salt helps enhance the flavors and gives balance to the sweetness of the cookie

M&M's. Try using Halloween M&M's in Purple, Orange and Green. Makes for a fun cookie color combo.

How to make Gideon's Bakehouse Bride of Frankenstein Cookies copycat

I recommend using cold butter. Cut butter into small cubes. I slice butter into tablespoon portions and then cut each slice into 4 smaller pieces.

Butter and sugar in Bosch Mixer

Cold butter combined with brown sugar and granulated sugar will take a bit to cream together. Scrape sides of bowl as needed to mix all ingredients together.

Using cookie paddles is best. This cookie dough will be thick and heavy.

Once all ingredients are combined, add eggs and vanilla extract paste and continue to cream together.

Vanilla cookie dough base in mixer bowl

In a separate bowl combine dry ingredients of flours, baking soda, salt, and cornstarch.

Gradually add dry ingredients to butter mixture a little at a time making sure ingredients are fully combined before adding more dry ingredients.

    Hand Stir Additional Ingredients

Hand stir white chocolate chips and Golden Oreo pieces into cookie dough.

Cookie dough with white chocolate chips and golden oreos

Separate cookie dough into 8 equal size cookie dough balls. Using a kitchen scale is ideal. And it will ensure even baking process throughout with uniform size cookie dough

Carefully roll cookie dough into M&M candies. I like to make sure the cookies have an even balance of colors and make sure to remove any candy pieces from the bottom of the cookies.

    Cookies rolled in M&M's

M&M candies on the bottom of the cookie dough will burn during baking.

Roll cookie dough into Golden Oreo Crumbs filling in all the gaps between M&M's pressing Oreo crumbs into cookie dough as needed.

    Chill Cookie Dough

Chill cookie dough for a minimum of 2 hour in refrigerator. Preferably 10 hours or more. The flavors of the ingredients will meld together over time. The longer the cookie dough has to sit the better the flavors will be.

    Baking Instructions

Place chilled cookie dough on baking sheet leaving 4 inches of space between each cookie to allow for spreading.

Garnish with some sea salt flakes (optional). It looks pretty and balances out the sweet flavors too.

Bake in a preheated oven. Remove cookies from oven when edges are set and hold the shape.

Remove from oven and keep hot cookies on hot baking sheet for 5 minutes before moving to a cooling rack.

Cookies will continue to bake while on hot baking sheet.

Storage and Freezing Bride of Frankenstein Cookies Copycat

Store cooled cookies in sealed container for up to a week.  Best if enjoyed within 2-3 Days.

Freeze Cookies for up to 3 months when properly sealed. Store in a sealed ZipLoc Bag or plastic container

    Weighing Ingredients and Measurements

It's important to use the listed amount of ingredients for your cookies to bake properly. Using a kitchen scale is the ideal way to measure baking ingredients.

I know you want to make the same delicious perfectly baked cookies that I have here, so please follow the listed ingredients and weigh them properly.

Using cold butter over softened butter makes all the difference.

    How to check for doneness

Checking gourmet cookies can be tricky. I suggest using a toothpick and poking into the center of the Frankenstein cookies. The centers are be loaded with melted chocolate, don't be alarmed with a toothpick does not come out clean.

Cookie centers will be soft to the touch but will not be ooey goey.

Baking is a science and it's important to understand a little bit of that science. Taking the time to whip the fats with the sugars helps introduce air into the ingredients which lightens the cookies.

Using a combination of Cake Flour and Bread Flour helps to give these cookies a better consistency along with creaming cold butter with sugars. The dough will help create a lift.

I adore Gideon’s Cookies. And I love to try to make a copycat worthy of the real deal. I’ll see what I can do to add a few more of the fun flavors Gideon’s offer. However, I ALWAYS recommend trying these giant cookies in person. The theming of the shop is fantastic and so much apart of the entire experience.
